Senior Graphic Designer – Product & Packaging
About Branch:
Branch is shaking up the $46B office furniture industry to create an office experience for the 21st century: easy, affordable and flexible so you can sit down (or stand) and get to work.
We're based in NYC and backed by the investors behind household brands like Carta, Caraway and Peloton. Our founders arrive with experience in partnerships, real estate acquisitions and venture building at leading real estate companies like Oxford Properties, SL Green and Redfin.
We’re an ambitious group of problem solvers innovating across software, design and logistics, and we’re looking for entrepreneurial teammates who like a challenge.
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Graphic Designer – Product & Packaging to join our growing furniture design organization. This role will be based in Asia, ideally in southern China near Shenzhen, and will work closely with our North America–based furniture design and development teams, as well as China- and Vietnam-based sourcing and engineering teams.
This role is heavily execution-focused, with primary ownership over assembly guides, packaging artwork, and product documentation across our furniture portfolio. You will be responsible for translating complex furniture designs into clear, accurate, and user-friendly visual instructions that support factory production, customer assembly, and post-launch product support.
You’ll collaborate closely with Industrial Designers, Product Development, Engineering, and Operations to ensure all printed and digital materials are accurate, consistent, and production-ready. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, organization, and follow-through, as you will be working across time zones with global teams.
In your first ninety days at Branch, you will take ownership of active assembly guide and packaging workflows, quickly integrating into ongoing development programs and helping improve the clarity, consistency, and scalability of our product documentation systems.
This is a critical role at the center of how our products ship, assemble, and perform in customers’ homes and offices. If you enjoy highly detailed work, visual problem-solving, and building systems that scale, we’d love to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the creation, maintenance, and ongoing updates of assembly guides and packaging artwork across Branch’s furniture portfolio
- Produce detailed, multi-page assembly instructions that clearly communicate product assembly, usage, and safety information
- Create accurate vector-based diagrams, exploded views, and technical illustrations that reflect real-world furniture construction
- Design and maintain packaging graphics, dielines, labeling, and related production artwork
- Own printed material specifications for assembly guides and packaging, including paper type, paper weight, cardboard grades, finishes, coatings, and durability requirements
- Define and manage print production specifications, including ink systems, color standards, print methods, and tolerances, working closely with factories and suppliers to ensure consistent, high-quality output at scale
- Oversee workflows to ensure printed assembly guide and packaging files are correctly implemented into factory production cycles, and that digital versions are documented on the company website and internal development drives
- Review, validate, and approve final artwork prior to factory release, identifying risks or gaps before mass production
- Collaborate closely with Industrial Designers and Engineers to understand product construction, tolerances, and assembly logic
- Partner with sourcing and factory teams to address documentation questions, revisions, and manufacturing feedback
- In partnership with the Asia team, visit factories to review design, packaging, and development samples throughout the product development process
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve documentation clarity, reduce customer friction, and streamline production and implementation workflows
- Help define and maintain visual and production standards for assembly guides and packaging to ensure consistency across products
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field
- 5–10 years of experience in graphic design, production design, or technical illustration, ideally supporting physical products
- Demonstrated experience creating assembly instructions, technical diagrams, or production-ready documentation for manufactured goods
- Exceptional vector illustration skills, with deep fluency in Adobe Illustrator and strong control over line weight, hierarchy, spacing, and clarity
- Experience working with packaging dielines, print specifications, and factory-ready artwork
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage high-volume, repetitive production work without sacrificing quality
- Experience collaborating with engineers, industrial designers, or manufacturing partners
- Comfortable working directly with factories to resolve documentation, clarity, or implementation issues
- Proven ability to own complex production workflows with minimal oversight
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with a willingness to practice and improve through regular collaboration with global teams
- Proven ability to work independently in a remote, cross-time-zone environment, setting priorities and managing deadlines proactively
- An entrepreneurial mindset, comfortable working in gray areas, with a strong bias for action and ownership
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
- Familiarity with CAD viewers, technical drawings, dielines, and manufacturing documentation workflows is a plus
